State govt recommends compulsory retirement  of IPS officers Mukesh Gupta & G P Singh to Centre

Raipur:The possibility of compulsory retirement of suspended IPS officers Mukesh Gupta and G P Singh has increased as Chhattisgarh government has sent the files of the IPS officers to the Central government reportedly recommending their retirement.

It is worthwhile to mentioned, the state government has suspended the 1990-batch IPS officer Mukesh Gupta in view of his involvement in many cases including illegal phone tapping. 

It is also to be mentioned that the Supreme Court has ordered a stay on action against IPS Mukesh Gupta and it will be interesting see how Centre reacts to the state government’s recommendation. On the other hand, IPS officer GP Singh has been suspended by the government for amassing disproportionate assets.

Apart from this, it is also learnt that there was a proposal to give compulsory retirement to two other officers, but their file is still pending.
