SP Udai Kiran in controversy again for beating his driver

Narayanpur:Superintendent of Police (SP), Narayanpur, has again come under scanner after he allegedly beat his driver black and blue. The driver was admitted to the hospital after being beaten by the SP. 

A delegation of the tribal community met the injured driver in the hospital. On the other hand, former MP Sohan Potai demanded removal of the SP and a FIR against him under Atrocity Act. However, the SP refused that he committed such act.

According to information, constable Jaylal Netam was deployed as the driver of SP Udai Kiran who allegedly beat the driver for not cleaning the vehicle. The SP reportedly took the driver to the hospital seeing the deteriorating condition of the driver.

SP warned by Tribal Community 

Sarv Adivasi Samaj held a meeting and demanded action against the SP for beating the driver or else they will agitate. Former MP Sohan Potai demanded the removal of the SP who denied doing any such act. The SP said that he only scolded the driver and warned him of line attach.

It is worthwhile to mention, police had cane-charged former MLA Vimal Chopda following an order from IPS Udai Kiran in 2018. Chopda and his supporters had gone to stage a demonstration at the police station in protest against eve-teasing of a former international badminton player and gold medalist during a practice session. The Supreme Court of India had ordered to file FIR against IPS Udai Kiran, SI Sameer Dungdung and constable Chhatrapal Sinha.
