Every possible step should be taken to move Bastar forward towards peace and prosperity: Chief Secy

Raipur: Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Monday said that with the motto of security, development and trust, every possible step should be taken to move Bastar towards peace and prosperity. Jain took a detailed review of the development works conducted in Bastar division. He directed to work expeditiously to connect the inaccessible areas in Bastar division by paved roads. He said that work needs to be done keeping in view the favorable conditions for construction works.

In the review meeting, the Chief Secretary directed the officers to make necessary arrangements to improve public transportation in addition to the construction of roads. He also stressed on creating a suitable environment for promoting trade and business in Haat-Bazaars. Jain said that good health facilities, electricity and mobile network should be provided in the villages to make the rural life better. He also directed to complete the work plan prepared for providing conventional electricity to remote areas at the earliest.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed education, health, nutrition, and drinking water facilities being provided in remote areas. Describing the Chief Minister Haat-Bazaar Clinic Scheme as important and beneficial for the public in Bastar division, Jain directed officials to appoint dedicated teams for better implementation of the scheme. Necessary guidelines were given in the meeting for the operation of Super Specialty Hospital being established to improve health services in Bastar.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed works being done to provide better mobile connectivity in the entire Bastar division. He directed the representatives of service providers to take immediate action in this regard. He also inquired about the expansion of Rawghat railway line and rail operation besides directing the officials of Bhilai Steel Plant to provide essential services in the affected villages.

Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand Sinha, Inspector General of Border Security Force SK Tyagi, Commissioner Shyam Dhawade, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P. along with all collectors of Bastar division, SPs, Forest Divisional Officers, Chief Executive Officers of Zila Panchayats and senior officials of CRPF, BSF, Forest Department, Public Works Department, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, Health and Electricity Department were present in the meeting.
