District Congress Committee Spokesperson Saurav Mishra called on Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Home Minister Tamradhwaj to publicize and advertise the campaign against drugs, narcotics and illicit drugs by District Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh. Sourav Mishra, District Congress Committee spokesperson, wrote a letter to the Chief Minister and informed him that Koriya Superintendent of Police, Santosh Singh, is running a drive against drugs, narcotics and illicit drugs in the district. Under this campaign, the Koriya police are making efforts to intercept narcotics, illegal drugs, but they are also trying to raise public awareness through various programs. The police have also arranged to counsel the severely addicted. Saurav Mishra mentioned in the letter that since July, 124 people got arrested in 98 cases of narcotics, 368people in 355 cases of illicit liquor in the district under the Nijat Abhiyan run by Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh. In all, 492 people have been arrested in 453 cases so far under the Nijat Abhiyan. Many people have gotten better after counselling, and others are still under the supervision of the department. District Spokesperson Saurav Mishra further wrote that the anti-drugs, narcotics and illicit drug campaign launched by Santosh Singh in Koriya is very commendable and praiseworthy. If the Nijaat Abhiyan is expanded to the entire state, then youth can be made aware of drugs, narcotics and illegal drugs.

 District Spokesperson also requested the Chief Minister to publicize and advertise the campaign in the entire state and implement it. It is noteworthy that; two IPS officers of the country were honoured with America’s prestigious IACP Award for their continuous efforts to crack down on criminals and community policing; one of those is District Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh.
