Raipur The winter session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly commenced on Tuesday after the BJP formed the government, prompting the legislators of the 90-member assembly to take the oath. Pro-tem Speaker Ramvichar Netam administered the oath to the legislators, including Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. Approximately 40 legislators took the oath in the Chhattisgarhi language, while around 6 legislators took it in Sanskrit. As the newly elected Speaker, Dr. Raman Singh expressed gratitude from the podium. Upon Dr. Raman Singh’s election as the Assembly Speaker, leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties extended their congratulations. Subsequently, the session proceedings were adjourned until 11 AM on Wednesday. Additionally, the government will introduce a supplementary budget during this session. Addressing the first day of the Assembly session, Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai mentioned that all newly elected legislators were administered the oath by Protem Speaker Ramvichar Netam, and everyone took it. He announced that the Honorable Governor’s address would occur tomorrow, followed by the presentation of a supplementary budget. This step is essential because providing solid housing to 1.8 million people under the Prime Minister’s housing scheme and offering a bonus for two years of paddy production necessitate the passing of the supplementary budget. Discussions on both topics will take place the following day. Regarding the cabinet expansion, the Chief Minister assured that the wait won’t be too long; the cabinet formation can happen anytime
