The
Private School Association had already announced a state-level strike on Monday.
Several school administrators from across the state reached Raipur on Monday afternoon.
The people of the school association expressed their displeasure towards the
government by gathering at the protest site of Budhapara. Due to this decision
of the association, the education of about 16 lakh children studying in all
private schools of the state will be affected.

School
Association President Rajiv Gupta said that the government is constantly
ignoring our demands. The main reason for this strike is the money received by
private schools under RTE (Right to Education). For the last several months,
about Rs. 106 crore is due to all the schools, which the government has not
given till now. All schools were locked on Monday. Teaching staff, nonteaching
staffs are all on strike. About 2,000 employees and school operators sat on a protest
in Raipur, he said.

The
demands include reimbursement amount of RTE for 2020-2021 should be provided to
non-government schools without delay and waving off road tax of all school
buses from April 2020 to July 2021 (16 months) since the operation of school
buses remained shut for 16 months, so the road tax should be waived. Besides,
the association also complained that during the corona pandemic, all the private
schools of the state were inspected by the school education department,
non-government schools are being harassed by telling shortcomings in different
districts.
