Dispatch News.
“Swachhata Pakhwada” 2023 started in SECL under the Swachh Bharat Mission of the Government of India with the organisation of the Swachhata Shapath programme. Chairman-cum-Managing Director Dr Prem Sagar Mishra administered the “Cleanliness Pledge” to all present in the presence of the Board of Directors, various department heads, officers-employees, and labour union representatives in the programme organised at the administrative building of SECL Headquarters, Bilaspur.
In his address, CMD Dr Prem Sagar Mishra called upon people present to follow the cleanliness oath. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to keep our workplace and surrounding places clean and for this, we have to keep making small efforts continuously.
The government of India initiated the Swachhta Pakhwada in April 2016 to intensively emphasise the issues and practises of cleanliness in the jurisdiction of the Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. Like every year, this year too, the SECL is organising Swachhta Pakhwada in headquarters, mines, and various offices between June 16 and 30.
During this, the company will organise various programmes to create awareness through social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and understanding of plastic waste management in villages around SECL mines and offices. The organisation of events, cleaning of premises and offices of selected mines and departments, disposal of waste and reducing the use of single-use plastic, essay, drawing, and quiz competitions on cleanliness for school and college students, and installation of dustbins so that waste can be collected separately by the residents will include programmes involving plantation and distribution in the surrounding villages.
