Seven Naxalites nutralised by security forces in Bastar encounter

Security forces have nutralised seven Naxalites in an encounter in Bastar. The clash took place at the borders of Dantewada, Narayanpur, and Bastar districts. Bodies of the killed Naxalites, along with weapons, have been recovered. Among the slain Naxalites is a company commander of the DVCM cadre, who had a bounty of Rs 800,000 on his head. The death toll may rise. Additionally, 3 personnel were injured.
According to information, the police received a tip-off that a large number of Naxalites were present in the jungles of Mungedi and Gobel villages in the Pur Bastar division area. Acting on this information, teams from the DRG and ITBP of Dantewada, Narayanpur, Jagdalpur, and Kondagaon districts were dispatched on the 6th.


It is reported that over 1,200 personnel were conducting a search operation in the area. Since the morning of the 7th, intermittent firing between the police and Naxalites had started.



According to the information received, when the encounter ended, the personnel conducted a search in the area, recovering the bodies of 7 Naxalites and weapons. The personnel are still present at the location, continuing the search operation.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai stated that reports are coming in of 7 Naxalites being killed in the inter-district joint operation by security forces against Naxalites in the border areas of Mungedi and Gobel villages in Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Kondagaon districts. This success of the personnel is commendable. “I salute their indomitable courage. Our fight against Naxalism, which we have started, will only end when it reaches its conclusion. Our government is committed to this,” he said.
