Chhattisgarh government announces 5 per cent hike in DA ahead of Diwali

Raipur: As a Diwali gift in advance, Chhattisgarh Government has announced 5 per cent hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for its officers and employees, stated an order issued by the finance department in this regard today.

The increased rate of DA will be effective from the current month of October. The amount of increment in DA will be paid in cash from October 1, 2022. With the increment of five per cent in DA, those who receive salary under the seventh pay scale in the state will get 33 per cent dearness allowance. This order of increase the dearness allowance will also be applicable for UGC, AICTE and contingency salary employees.

State government has increased the dearness allowance by 12 per cent for the salary earners from the sixth pay scale. Now they will get 201 per cent dearness allowance instead of 189 per cent dearness allowance. The Finance Department has issued a circular regarding the increment in dearness allowance to all the departments of the state government, chairman, revenue board, bilaspur, all heads of departments, divisional commissioners and collectors.

Meanwhile, from August-2022, DA was being paid at the rate of 28 per cent to the officers and employees of the state. At the same time, those in the sixth pay scale were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 189 per cent.
