BJP dominates Chhattisgarh in Lok Sabha elections

In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP was leading in 10 out of 11 seats in Chhattisgarh, with Congress winning leading in only one. Brijmohan Agrawal of BJP registered a landslide victory in Raipur with the highest winning margin in the state. He. Other notable wins include Vijay Baghel in Durg and Jyotsna Mahantin Korba for Congress.

BJP candidate Brijmohan Agrawal had a landslide victory in Raipur, leaving Congress candidate Vikas Upadhyay trailing by 575,285 votes. This marked the highest winning margin in the state.

In Durg, BJP’s Vijay Baghel won by a margin of 438,226 votes, the second largest margin in Chhattisgarh.

The Congress found success only in the Korba Lok Sabha seat. Here, Jyotsna Mahant defeated her BJP counterpart former Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey by over 40,000 votes.

Other notable wins for the BJP included Chintamani Maharaj in Sarguja with a margin of 64,822 votes and Santosh Pandey in Rajnandgaon, who won by 44,000 votes.

In Bilaspur, Tokhan Sahu of BJP emerged victorious by over 100,000 votes. Similarly, Kamlesh Jangde from the BJP won the Janjgir Champa seat by 60,000 votes.

In Bastar, BJP’s Mahesh Kashyap secured his win by 55,245 votes. The Kanker constituency saw a narrow victory for BJP candidate Bhojraj Nag, who won by 1,974 votes.

Roopkumari Chaudhary, representing the BJP, had a comfortable win in Mahasamund with 145,456 votes. In Raigarh, Radheshyam Rathi of BJP won by a significant margin of 240,391 votes.

The sole success for the Congress came through Jyotsna Mahant in Korba, who defeated her BJP rival Saroj Pandey by more than 40,000 votes.
