Cataract, sterilization tragedies are past now: Baghel

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said that today people of Chhattisgarh are getting branded medicines at low cost unlike previous government in the state. Once upon a time Chhattisgarh used to be known for cataract tragedy and sterilization tragedy.
Gone are the days when such tragedies used to happen in the state, said the chief minister.
During his ‘bhent-mulaqat’ programme at Boriyakhurd – the rural assembly constituency of Raipur, Baghel interacted with the people here. The Chief Minister gifted development works worth Rs 167 crore on the occasion.
The Chief Minister asked a girl named Rakhi Sahu if she takes advantage of the Dhanwantari scheme. The girl replied she takes medicines from the medical store for her father who is suffering from Sugar. The girls told the chief minister that earlier she used to buy medicine for Rs 1700 but now the same medicine she can get for Rs 600.
