A farewell was given to Governor Vishwabhushan Harichandan on Tuesday by the Raj Bhavan family. On this occasion, Governor Harichandan addressed all the officials and staff of the Raj Bhavan, reminiscing about various moments of his tenure and expressing gratitude for their support. Present at the ceremony were Governor’s Secretary Shri Yashwant Kumar, Legal Advisor Shri Bhishma Prasad Pandey, along with other officials and staff of the Raj Bhavan. The Governor was honored with a shawl, a fruit basket, and a memento from the Raj Bhavan family.
Governor Harichandan mentioned that during his tenure, he had toured various regions of Chhattisgarh and observed the dedication, commitment, and courage of the people here. He noted that the land is not only rich in natural beauty but also that the people of Chhattisgarh are exceptionally simple and straightforward. He expressed that it is impossible to forget the affection and respect he received from everyone.
He noted that several important schemes and policies were implemented during his term. He emphasized his efforts in improving the quality of higher education to better the future of students. He had directed that convocation ceremonies be held timely at universities and always inspired students to serve the nation and work for the poor, oppressed, and marginalized. He stated that protecting the rights of the common people has been his continuous struggle, and he has always stood against injustice wherever he saw it. He urged everyone to join in the fight against social injustice and exploitation.
Governor Harichandan highlighted that environmental pollution is a major global issue today. He stressed the need for everyone to be aware and plant trees to keep the environment clean. He stated that such actions would greatly benefit both the environment and humanity.
He added that he had always strived to work with sensitivity as the Governor of Chhattisgarh. The doors of Raj Bhavan were always open to everyone. He made every effort to ensure that Raj Bhavan acted as a strong bridge between the government and the public, which was made possible through collective participation and support.
On this occasion, Governor’s Secretary Yashwant Kumar remarked that Harichandan had provided continuous guidance with his knowledge and experience. His sensitivity was reflected in his work, and he met people with warmth and provided prompt instructions for resolving their problems. He also resolved issues that arose in solving problems, providing inspiration through his active approach. Shri Yashwant Kumar extended best wishes for Shri Harichandan’s long and healthy life.
