Vibha Singh, widow of former MLA, late Devvrat Singh, levels accusations against former CM Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur
Amidst the fervor of Lok Sabha election campaigns, Vibha Singh, the widow of the former MLA, late Devvrat Singh of Khairagarh, has leveled accusations against former Chief Minister and Congress candidate from the Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat, Bhupesh Baghel. She alleged that Padma Singh, presenting herself as Devvrat’s wife, is soliciting votes for the Congress party.
Vibha asserts that Bhupesh Baghel, along with Devvrat Singh’s former wife, Padma Singh, conspired to demolish the palace. Recalling a harrowing incident, she claims that the palace was bombarded with stones, posing a threat to their lives. The closure of the palace effectively dismantled its political influence. Despite the longstanding affiliation of her family with the Congress, Devvrat Singh was allegedly coerced to leave the party, shedding “tears of blood” while he was alive.
In a released video, Vibha Singh contends that she never shed tears or erected a statue after Devvrat’s demise. She alleges that Padma Singh, who absconded with 11 crores, abandoning her children and Devvrat Singh, is being paraded as the present wife by Bhupesh Baghel and Yashoda Verma to garner votes. She claims to possess evidence of this in video format, denouncing it as a ploy to secure votes.
Vibha Singh implores the residents of Rajnandgaon not to be misled by Bhupesh Baghel, emphasizing that Padma has no connection to their royal family. She portrays Padma as a woman who deserted her family, took money after divorce, and is now being falsely presented as the present wife to solicit votes. She urges the electorate to make an informed choice for their future.
Responding to Vibha Singh’s allegations, Congress Communication Department Head Sushil Anand Shukla accuses her of playing into the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He insinuates that the circumstances surrounding Devvrat Singh’s demise and the family feud are well-known in Rajnandgaon. He questions where Devvrat Singh would belong if not with Bhupesh Baghel.
