Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address Chhattisgarh Legislators on January 20, 21 Raipur In a significant development, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are set to visit Raipur to address the Legislators of the State Assembly ahead of the Budget Session, commencing on February 5. Both leaders have graciously accepted the invitation of State Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh who had visited New Delhi on Wednesday and met with them. Dr Singh revealed that the Vice President is scheduled to arrive in Raipur on January 20, followed by Home Minister Amit Shah on January 21. During their visit, they will engage with the newly elected legislators and ministers of the state. The leaders are expected to delve into crucial political discussions about the state’s affairs, as revealed by Dr Singh. A comprehensive awareness program is on the agenda, set to take place in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. The program aims to familiarize legislators with parliamentary rules, traditions, and the intricacies of session activities, with a focus on technical aspects. The event will also provide an opportunity for new legislators to raise any questions or concerns they may have, with Vice President and Home Minister actively participating in the program. This legislative session welcomes 38 new faces in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, marking a significant shift in representation. Of these, 28 belong to the BJP, while 10 are from the Congress, all democratically elected for the first time by the public. In a commendable move towards fostering fresh political talent, both the BJP and Congress presented a total of 78 new faces in the recent legislative elections. The BJP introduced 48 new candidates, and the Congress fielded 30 new leaders, showcasing a commitment to renewal and inclusivity. The election results saw a remarkable turn of events, with new faces emerging victorious on 22 seats out of the 47 contested by both the BJP and Congress. These newcomers, contesting elections for the first time, successfully defeated seasoned and prominent candidates, signaling a significant shift in the political landscape of Chhattisgarh.
