Major Cabinet Decision: Chhattisgarhiya Olympic Games will be organized in the state
Raipur: To promote local and traditional games in Chhattisgarh, state government has taken a new initiative to organize Chhattisgarhiya Olympic Games this year. This decision was taken today at the cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office.
Under Chhattisgarhiya Olympic, sports competitions from kabaddi, Kho-Kho to tennis and cricket will be organized. Children to elderly, everyone can participate in these competitions. Only the domiciles of Chhattisgarh can take part in the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics.
Chhattisgarhiya Olympics will be organized in four levels
Games like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Gedi, Pitthul, Volleyball, Hockey and Tennis Ball cricket have been included under Chhattisgarhiya Olympic Games-2022. Competitions will be held in two categories- male and female, and at four levels i.e. Gram Panchayat, Block, District and State-level. Chhattisgarhiya Olympic Games will be organized at the state-level in the capital Raipur. Sports coaches from Chhattisgarh Sports Development Authority, representatives of state and district sports associations and sports teachers of the education department will be providing the technical support and guidance in organizing these games.
Training for National and International Competitions:
Sports Instructors (Coaches) will prepare the talented sportspersons of Chhattisgarhia Olympic Games-2022 for national and international competitions. This is a golden opportunity for the athletes to enhance their career as a sportsperson at national and international level.
Following committees will be constituted for sports events:
State Government will constitute separate committees for organizing sports events in gram panchayats and in 146 blocks of the state. The convener of the committees constituted at the gram panchayat level will be the Sarpanch and the convener of the committees formed at the block level will be the block officer. For the food, transportation and other facilities for the participants, budget will be sanctioned to the Gram Panchayats and Development Blocks.
