Cycle rally to raise nutrition awareness held in Raipur

Raipur: In a bid to achieve the goal of malnutrition-free Chhattisgarh and increase awareness regarding a healthy balanced diet among people, a cycle rally was organized in Raipur on Tuesday. Spreading the message of “Sahi Poshan, Desh Roshan” and “Gadhbo Suposhit Chhattisgarh”, the rally started from Telibandha Talab here in the presence of WCD minister Anila Bhediya.

The rally saw the participation of Chairperson of State Women Commission Dr. Kiranmayee Nayak, Dharsiwa MLA Anita Yogendra Sharma and a large number of members of UNICEF, NSS, and various bi-cycle clubs. On this occasion, the minister flagged off the nutrition awareness chariot and administered the nutrition oath. Observing ‘Poshan Month’, this cycle rally was organized by Women and Child Development in collaboration with UNICEF.

Meanwhile, ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ is being operated from the year 2018 to reduce the rate of malnutrition and anemia and realize the concept of a ‘well-nourished India’. Under this, every year the month of September is celebrated as ‘Rashtriya Poshan Maah’  across the country to ensure community mobilization and bolster people’s participation.
