City MLA Shailesh Pandey honoured Mitanins on the occasion of Mitanin Day.

On the occasion of Mitanin Day in November, the Mitanin Samman ceremony organized at CIMS Auditorium was concluded with the chief guest of city MLA Shailesh Pandey. While speaking at the event, City MLA Shailesh Pandey stated that during pandemics such as Corona, Mitanin mothers and sisters served the people as angels; their service is priceless and will never be forgotten. He announced a Rs 10 lakh donation from the MLA fund after the land for Mitanin Bhavan was made available.

Further, he said that Mitanins have done remarkable work in nutrition, health and awareness. They are the pride of our state. The hard work of our 72 thousand Mitanin sisters has contributed a lot to improving the health of the people of Chhattisgarh. The progress that Chhattisgarh has achieved in the health sector after becoming a state would not have been possible without the efforts of the Mitanins.

The Mitanin sisters began their work with maternal health, child health, and nutrition. He then treated Malaria, Diarrhea, and Tuberculosis. And played a significant role in the fight against diseases such as leprosy; today, she is also connecting the community with services for mental health, blood pressure, sugar, and so on. She is working to increase community awareness of health issues, provide appropriate advice, and provide first aid for common ailments. In addition to the right to health, the Mitanin sisters are improving their work on social issues such as women’s empowerment. They are connecting the community with the many welfare schemes of the government.

Learning from Chhattisgarh’s Mitanin programme, the ASHA programme was established across the country, with ten lakh women now working as community health workers. Mitanin is the pride of Chhattisgarh. The World Health Organization has also appreciated his contribution at the global level this year.

In the program, District Congress President Vijay Kesharwani, City President Vijay Pandey, Municipal Corporation President Sheikh Naziruddin, District Panchayat President Ankit Gaurha, AICC member and councillor Vishnu Yadav, Chief Medical and Health Officer Anil Srivastava, Dr Vijay Singh, Mitanin branch in-charge Umesh Pandey, Piyoli Majumdar, Block President Moti Thavarani, Zahoor Ali, Karam Gorakh, Rehan Raza, Sudesh Dubey, Shashwat Tiwari, Lalla Soni, Ayush Thakur, along with a large number of Mitanins participated.
