Chhattisgarh Health Secretary gives instructions to pace up the work of Covid-19 vaccination

Raipur: Chhattisgarh health secretary Prasanna R has issued circular to all the district collectors with the instructions to administer second dose of COVID vaccine as well as the precaution dose to those who have not been vaccinated yet. Lauding the efforts of State’s Health Department for prevention and cure of COVID-19 during the pandemic, Prasanna stated in the circular that vaccination is an effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection. Besides, to develop strong immunity against COVID infection, it is very important to take the first and the second as well as the precaution dose of the COVID vaccine.

It has been further stated in the circular that  since July 15, 2022, free doses of the COVID vaccine are being administered to all the beneficiaries of the age group 18 years and above at the government COVID-19 vaccination centers. Under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, this vaccination drive will be conducted till 30 September 2022. He has directed the collectors to take necessary action and ensure vaccination of maximum number of people, and also regularly review the process to make the vaccination drive a success.

Meanwhile, so far (till 20 September) about 4.94 crore vaccines have been administered in the state. Out of these, 2.25 crore vaccines have been administered as the first dose, 2.02 crore as the second dose and 66.87 lakh precaution doses have also been administered.
