Raipur Amidst the escalating Naxal attacks and the recent assassination of a BJP leader in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma pointedly addressed Congress’s alleged concessions to Naxal groups. Sharma emphasized Congress’ continued compromised stance and noted that the Maoists are unsettled by the ascendancy of the BJP government. This assertion was made by the Deputy Chief Minister before departing for the Ambikapur event from the Raipur airport. Responding to the Congress’ claims of heightened Maoist incidents during the BJP’s governance, Sharma, who holds the Home Department, said that this unrest among the Maoists stemmed from the BJP’s administration. Post their government’s formation, incidents like IED blasts have occurred, resulting in the martyrdom of soldiers from the CG Police and BSF. Detailing strategies to curb the surging crime incidents, the Home Minister highlighted imminent law enforcement crackdowns. “In the coming days, our police will tackle drug addiction, and other illegal liquor activities,” Sharma affirmed. Sharma recently visited the village of a slain soldier and elucidated, “Our police conducted an analysis that indicated heightened knife attacks and other crimes in areas with prevalent drug addiction. By identifying these roots, we can eradicate the source of numerous crimes.” Commenting on the recent murder of BJP leader in Pakhanjur, Sharma stated, “The investigation is ongoing. The authorities are committed to revealing the truth and ensuring stringent punishment as per the law.” Meanwhile, Congress leader Sushil Anand Shukla’s allegations of Naxalism proliferation during previous BJP governance were countered by Sharma.
