Two Separate Encounters on Chhattisgarh Border: 6 Naxals Killed, Top Leader Hidma Among the Dead

Two separate encounters between security forces and Naxals are currently underway on the Chhattisgarh border. The first encounter is taking place along the Chhattisgarh–Andhra Pradesh border, where six Naxals have been killed, including dreaded top Naxal commander Hidma.
In another incident, a second encounter broke out on the morning of November 18 in Sukma district’s Errabor police station area, where several Naxals are reported to be injured. Security forces remain on-site, and an extensive search operation is ongoing.
Recent Major Operations
📌 On November 16, security forces killed three Naxals in an operation in the Bejji–Chintagufa border region of Sukma district. Acting on confirmed intelligence, DRG (District Reserve Guard) teams entered the forest at night. As the forces advanced, Naxals opened fire, triggering a gunbattle. By morning, three Naxals were neutralized, and weapons were recovered from the site.
📌 On November 11, six Naxals, including three women, were killed in an encounter in the National Park area of Bijapur district.
Among the dead were:
- Buchanna, in-charge of the Madde Area Committee
- Urmila, wife of top Naxal commander Paparao (who managed to escape)
The killed Naxals carried a combined reward of ₹2.7 million (₹27 lakh).
📌 In another recent encounter in Sukma, three Naxals, including two women, were gunned down. Among them was Madvi Deva, a sniper specialist and Jan Militia commander, each carrying a ₹1.5 million (₹15 lakh) reward.
Sukma SP Kiran Chavan confirmed the details.
Search Operations Continue
Security forces are conducting wide-range search operations across the forest areas. The full extent of Naxal losses will be known only after the operations conclude.
All recent encounters were launched based on credible intelligence inputs, leading to the elimination of several high-value Naxal leaders and recovery of weapons and materials from the encounter sites.
