Two drug suppliers blacklisted in Chhattisgarh over substandard medicines

Raipur
The Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSC) has taken strict action over lapses in drug quality, blacklisting two supplier companies for a period of three years. The action follows laboratory tests which found three separate drug batches to be Not of Standard Quality (NSQ).

The following drug supplies were found substandard in NABL-accredited and government testing laboratories:

  • Calcium (Elemental) with Vitamin D3 Tablets and Ornidazole Tablets supplied by M/s A.G. Parenterals, Village Guggarwala, Baddi (Himachal Pradesh).
  • Heparin Sodium 1000 IU/ml Injection IP supplied by M/s Divine Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara (Gujarat). This batch was found substandard in NABL-accredited laboratories and the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL), Kolkata.

The CGMSC has blacklisted the two companies for three years with immediate effect, in line with the tender conditions. During this blacklisting period, the companies cannot participate in any new tender issued by the Corporation.

CGMSC stated that its Quality Assurance Policy mandates strict inspection of every batch. The Corporation prioritises:

  • Continuous monitoring of medicines.
  • Batch-wise testing and retesting.
  • Prompt action on quality deviations.

The Corporation implemented all measures as per the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and Rules, 1945, and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). This ensures that only quality drugs reach patients.
