Top Cops Honoured at DGP–IG Conference in Chhattisgarh

The Ghazipur Police Station (Delhi) was awarded the Best Police Station in the country at the DGP–IG Conference held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) campus in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The Pahargaon Police Station in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands secured the second spot, while the Kavithala Police Station in Raichur district (Karnataka) claimed the third position.

Awards and Parameters

Union Home Minister Amit Shah honoured the country’s top three police stations.
The police stations were selected based on more than 70 category-based parameters.

National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval, R&AW Chief Parag Jain, and Intelligence Bureau (IB) Chief Tapan Deka were present on the dais during the ceremony.

U. Bala Shankaran, Station House Officer (SHO) of Ghazipur Police Station, stated that the evaluation included parameters such as station cleanliness, public behaviour, speed of crime disposal, status of pending cases, and measures taken for cyber safety and women’s safety.

Focus on Internal Security

The DGP–IG Conference is hosting high-level discussions on the country’s internal security, intelligence system, and future strategies.
Approximately 600 officers and VIPs from across the country are attending the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Raipur on Friday evening.
He will stay at the new Speaker House, while Home Minister Amit Shah is staying at the Finance Minister’s residence.

PM Modi’s Schedule

Prime Minister Modi will participate in the sessions scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

  • On Saturday, 29 November, he will attend the conference from 8 am to 8:30 pm.
  • On Sunday, 30 November, he will attend from 8 am to 4:30 pm and is scheduled to leave for Delhi at 5 pm.

This is the second visit of the Prime Minister to Chhattisgarh in a month, following his trip on 1 November for the State Formation Day celebrations.
