Three-day photo exhibition commemorating world tribal day to showcase Chhattisgarh tribal cultural tradition

Raipur: In celebration of World Tribal Day observed on August 9, a captivating three-day photo exhibition will be organized in collaboration with the Department of Culture. The event, titled “Chhattisgarh Tribal Cultural Tradition: From Effort to Impact,” aims to showcase the rich heritage and cultural diversity of tribal life in the state through a stunning collection of photographs. The exhibition will take place from August 9 to August 11, at the esteemed Kalavithika Mahant Ghasidas Museum, located near Ghadi Chowk, Raipur.

Officials from the Culture Department expressed their enthusiasm for the event, which will be inaugurated on August 9 at 6 p.m. by the esteemed Director of the Culture Department, Vivek Acharya. Joining him for the inauguration will be (Managing Director) C.S.P.T.C.L., Ujjwala Baghel, Retired D.G.M. C.S.P.T.C.L., Harish Baghel, President Jindal Steel & Power Limited, Pradeep Tandon, Director Gracious Group of Colleges, Dr. Ashutosh Shukla, Regional Project Director of Nokia, Ashish Upadhyay, and Deputy Director of the Archaeological Department, Pratap Parekh.

The exhibition will feature the exceptional work of renowned photographers from Raipur who have dedicated years to capturing the daily lives and cultural expressions of various tribal communities in Chhattisgarh. Sarvashri Dipendra Diwan, Akhilesh Bharos, Shishir Das, Dhaneshwar Sahu, and their team will showcase their awe-inspiring photographs, providing a unique insight into the vibrant traditions and rituals of the state’s indigenous populations.

Through this visual extravaganza, the exhibition aims to educate and engage the public in understanding the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh’s tribal communities while fostering an appreciation for their way of life. The organizers hope that the event will contribute to the preservation and promotion of the tribal culture in its original form.
