The former CMHO was punished for having property disproportionate to his income. Seven years in prison and a fine of ten lakh rupees.

In the case of disproportionate assets, the court has sentenced ex-CMHO. Judge Suresh Joon of Special Court Janjgir has pronounced the verdict in the case. Former CMHO Dr RL Ghritalhare got fined ten lakhs along with seven years imprisonment.
ACB took action in the case of disproportionate assets in 2012, when RL Ghritalhare was the CMHO in Janjgir and presented the case in court. The ACB investigation uncovered assets that were several times disproportionate to total income. The ACB had presented the case in Janjgir’s special court in the Benami property case worth crores. Former CMHO Dr RL Ghritalhare was sentenced to 7 years in prison by Special Court Janjgir Judge Suresh Joon.
In August 2012, the State Economic Research Bureau, Raipur, filed a first information letter against the Chief Medical and Health Officer, District Janjgir Champa, following a complaint of amassing disproportionate assets. In this case, a team from the State Economic Offenses Bureau raided the office of the Chief District Medical and Health Officer, RL Ghritalhare. Following the investigation, the charge sheet was presented to the Special Court in Janjgir. Based on documents and witnesses gathered during the raid, Special Judge Suresh Kumar Joon found the accused, former CMHO Dr RL Ghritalhare, guilty. The judge found that the assets acquired were disproportionate to the income. Dr RL Ghritalhare was convicted by Special Judge Suresh June under Section 13 (1) E and Section 13-2 of the Corruption and Corruption Act, 1988, and sentenced to 7 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh. Public Prosecutor Rajesh Pandey appeared on behalf of the prosecution in the case.
The court has also issued an order to confiscate Dr RL Ghritalhare’s property worth more than Rs one crore four lakhs. A decision has been passed to confiscate land, commercial buildings and houses and other properties in Raipur, Kharmora and Bilaspur. An order has been issued to confiscate property worth Rs 1 crore four lakhs 61 thousand 335.
