Teachers should be responsible like mothers – Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chakrawal

Bilaspur. Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, delivered a lecture on “National Education Policy 2020 and Quality Initiatives” at an event organised on January 9, 2023, at 4.30 p.m. by the National Education Policy-2020 Task Force Committee and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Guru Ghasidas University (A Central University). The event started with a welcome for the guests and a presentation of saplings. The Director of IQAC, Prof. A.S. Randive, delivered the welcome address.
In the lecture organised at Silver Jubilee Auditorium, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chakrawal, said that the role of the teacher is vital in any educational institution. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasises developing and nurturing the relationship between teachers, students, and education. Teachers play an essential role in moulding and shaping students. A teacher is only successful if he has the same sense of responsibility as a child’s mother.

According to Prof. Chakrawal, there is no age limit for learning and teaching. Teachers who create their path and identity inscribe new lessons for the students. Professor Chakrawal stressed that we must make the environment of this university such that it becomes capable of attracting more youth.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that the honourable Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, had shared the concept of “Lab to Land and Land to Lab,” in which higher educational institutions should work for the upliftment of society and pass on the practical benefits of learning to the community, in reference to the Shiksha Samagam Conference held in Varanasi in the first week of July under the National Education Policy 2020. Along with this, he also emphasised making various positive social activities a part of the curriculum. PhD regulations changes are one of the initiatives in implementing the National Education Policy 2020 at the university.

On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chakrawal, and the guests on the stage released the poetry collection “Satpura ki Pagdandiyan” by Dr Ramesh Gohe, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi. Prof. Manish Srivastava, the Registrar, gave a vote of thanks at the end of the programme. The programme was led by Dr Neeraj Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. Deans, department heads, teachers, and officers from various schools were in attendance.
