T.S. Singhdeo: Provide quality health care by removing the shortcomings of hospitals.

Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister T.S. Singhdeo reviewed the health services at Ambikapur today in a meeting of the health department officials of all the districts of the Surguja division. He directed the provision of quality health facilities to the people by removing the shortcomings of the government hospitals.

During the meeting, the Health Minister inquired about the progress of the department’s schemes and the resources available in hospitals. He directed the preparation of proposals for opening new sub-health centres in scheduled and plain areas as per the provision. Minister T S Singhdeo said that there is a provision to open sub-health centres in villages having a population of two to three thousand in scheduled areas and five thousand in plain areas. Send a proposal to open new sub-health centres in places with a high population but no sub-health centre.

In a marathon meeting that lasted all day today, the Health Minister directed all field officers to purchase medicines and equipment through CGMSC unless necessary. He requested that medications be made available in sufficient quantities. Medicines should be available at all levels, from the Mitanin box to the district hospital. T S Singhdeo stated that while scheme implementation is improving in some areas of the division, it is still lacking in others. He also mentioned taking action against officers in low-performing districts at the upcoming review meeting.

T S Singhdeo said that health facilities in the state have been better than before, and change is also visible. But still, there is a need to rectify the shortcomings in some areas. The government’s priority is to provide people with quality health care, which you must all fulfil. There is an urgent need to accelerate the eradication of diseases such as sickle cell anaemia, tuberculosis, and leprosy.

During the meeting, Prasanna R., Secretary of the Health Department, stated that patients should get quality health care based on available resources. Make the field staff more efficient by providing clinical training to reduce the number of referrals at the PHC level. Meet the parameters set for the implementation of the plans. He said that all officers should discharge their responsibilities honestly. In the meeting, the Divisional Joint Director of the Health Department, Dr P.S. Chief Medical and Health Officers, Civil Surgeons, Block Medical Officers, District Program Officers, Hospital Advisors and Block Program Managers of all the districts were present.
