Raipur: Government of India has decided to bestow the Padma Shri award to Bihar’s well-known mathematician and Super 30 founder Anand Kumar. He will be awarded Padma Shri in Literature and Education. Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the Padma Awards on January 25.
Soon after the announcement of the award, Kumar took to Twitter to thank the Government of India for this honor. “The Government of India announced to honor me with the Padma Shri, special thanks for considering me worthy of this honor. At the same time, heartfelt thanks to all those people who did not leave my side even in the most difficult situations.”, he wrote in the tweet.
Kumar started his initiative “Super 30” in the year 2002 to provide coaching to underprivileged students to prepare for JEE-Main & JEE-Advanced, the entrance examination for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
