State Level Youth Festival commences today at the state capital

Raipur: Inaugurating the State Level Youth Festival at the Science College Ground in Raipur, the School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam said that the festival provides a better platform for the youth to express their talents. At the same time, there will be an opportunity to learn about and understand the state’s rich cultural, folk sports, traditions, and so on. 

The Culture Department is also organising the Folk Literature Conference as part of this event.

He added that Chhattisgarh is a state of youth, the youth here have amazing talent.  Such events bring out the hidden talents of the youth.  They get encouragement.  Such events create an atmosphere of social harmony.  He said that in the last four years, various events like Chhattisgarhia Olympics, National Tribal Dance Festival have been organised to nurture the young talents of the state. It has been our endeavour that the energy and enthusiasm of the youth should not be limited only to events, but should also be used in creative works.  Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club has been formed for the development of leadership potential among the youth.

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Umesh Patel said that a total of 38 different disciplines are being organised in the Chhattisgarh Youth Festival, in which 24 cultural disciplines, 6 sports disciplines and 7 other disciplines are being organised. Along with this, under Chhattisgarh Lok Sahitya Sammelan, literature creation is being organised in dialects like Chhattisgarhi, Halbi, Gondi, Kudukh, Sargujiha etc.  With this, the literary genre of our state will be preserved and it will also be promoted.  State level youth festival is a confluence of diverse culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh.

A group of youths from various divisions of the state marched through the youth festival, displaying their traditional folk dance. A dance troupe of young people dressed in attractive costumes captivated the audience with various postures. Panthi and Danda dance groups from Durg division, Kaksar from Bastar division, Raut Nacha and Danda dance groups from Bilaspur division, Karma and Sarhul from Surguja division, and Karma and Panthi dance groups from Raipur division enthralled the audience with their performances.
