Speculation over a change in the Congress organization in Chhattisgarh.

Dispatch News.
With Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel meeting with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and former party president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, speculations are rife regarding the change in the Chhattisgarh Congress. The Chhattisgarh Congress president may get replaced. The meeting lasted for 15 minutes, sources said.
Cabinet ministers T.S. Singhdeo, Tamradhwaj Sahu, and speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant were also in Delhi. Bastar MP Deepak Baij also got called to Delhi in a hurry. He met with Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge.
Reportedly, a rift between the chief minister and the state Congress president, Mohan Markam, created such a situation, promoting the party leadership to ponder a change of guard.
Why can Mohan Markam be replaced?
Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress President Mohan Markam’s tenure ended last year, and there have been rumours of change.
The high command was also aware of the lack of coordination between the government and the organization in Chhattisgarh but hopes to avoid modifications before the elections. But in the meantime, when Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel returned after meeting National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi, he indicated the change in the organization.
After this, in the budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Mohan Markam opened a front against his government by raising the issue of the DMF Fund. A clear message has reached the high command that, at present, everything is not well between the ruling party and the organization.
MP Deepak Baij called Delhi.
Bastar MP Deepak Baij, one of the tribal faces of Bastar, has been called to Delhi. He has been the youngest MLA in Chhattisgarh. During the Modi wave in the Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, when the Congress got only two out of 11 seats, Deepak Baij proved his efficient representation by winning the Bastar Lok Sabha seat.
Deepak Baij and Amarjeet Bhagat?
Deepak Baij can be made the state president to retain the representation of Bastar before the elections. Congress MLAs hold the 12 assembly seats in Bastar. If the party removes Mohan Markam, it may be at a loss in Bastar; and Deepak Baij fits perfectly in this political profit-loss calculation. He is also a tribal figure; he has been an MLA from Chitrakot and is an MP from Bastar. The biggest thing is that there is no controversy related to Baij, who has a clean image. The party will not have to face the opposition of the BJP, and the political equation of Bastar will be settled if Baij becomes the state president of Congress.
Amarjeet Bhagat is among the strong ministers in Bhupesh’s cabinet and has emerged as the second big face of the party in the Surguja division. Amarjeet Bhagat, who was once close to T S Singhdeo, did not get a place in the Bhupesh cabinet in 2018. In a twist, Amarjeet Bhagat openly expressed his support for CM Bhupesh Baghel. In 2019, he got a place in the cabinet as the 13th minister. He has already entered the good books of Bhupesh Baghel by fulfilling the responsibilities given to him by the Chief Minister.
Amarjeet Bhagat was the first name for the state president, and many believed that his name could be announced at any time.
Bhupesh Baghel is the only leader in Chhattisgarh; Kawasi Lakhma
In the meantime, Minister Kawasi Lakhma has made a big statement amid the visit of veteran Congress leaders to Delhi. He said that Bhupesh Baghel is the leader in Chhattisgarh. We will hold elections under his leadership, and once again, Congress will form government in the state.
