SIA arrests Naxal financier working as labourer in Korba

Raipur – The State Investigation Agency (SIA) has purportedly arrested a Naxalite financier, Rama Ichha, following a raid in Korba. Rama was working as a labourer in a coal mine and allegedly funnelled funds to Maoist groups through local labour organisations.

Sources claimed that Rama was in contact with the Naxalite couple, Jaggu Kursam and Kamala Kursam, who were recently apprehended in Raipur. The couple, said to be active members of the Bhairamgarh Divisional Committee and Area Committee, was arrested from Changora Bhatha, Raipur, on 23 September, where they were living under forged documents.

Rama Ichha was produced before the NIA Court in Bilaspur on 27 September.

The SIA’s investigation is revealing significant details about the urban Naxal network. The agency is now working to identify other individuals Rama was in contact with. Security agencies have intensified the search for other suspected persons in the Korba region.
