Shoaib Dhebar barred from meeting inmates for three months

Raipur
The Raipur Central Jail authorities have barred Shoaib Dhebar, son of businessman Anwar Dhebar, from meeting any inmates for the next three months. The decision was taken after he allegedly obstructed official duties and forcibly entered a meeting room without permission from jail officials.
According to an order issued by the jail superintendent, Dhebar entered the advocates’ meeting room despite being asked not to by the concerned officials. His action disrupted the security and operational protocols of the jail.
A report by Deputy Jail Superintendent M N Pradhan confirmed that Dhebar had obstructed official duties. The jail superintendent, exercising powers under Rule 690 of the Jail Manual, issued the order prohibiting Dhebar from all types of meetings with inmates for a period of three months.
The superintendent stated that such acts will be taken seriously to maintain the security and discipline of the jail premises. The authorities will take stringent measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
Shoaib, who is the nephew of former Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar and son of liquor-scam accused Anwar Dhebar — was allegedly involved in a violent altercation at Zouk Club Bar on VIP Road, inside Hotel Sheetal International. The incident began when a man, Abdul Momin Khan, honked at a BMW blocking the entrance. Shoaib and his associates allegedly responded with abusive language and physical assault. An FIR was filed by Khan, leading to Shoaib’s arrest and subsequent preventive detention by the SDM, despite being granted bail on the assault charges.
Shoaib also became embroiled in a separate case involving cyber-stalking. He reportedly surrendered in connection with charges that included stalking a woman and forcibly extracting information from her mobile phone. His father, Anwar Dhebar, was also named as an accused in the same case. The matter originated from a complaint filed by Imran Meghji, who had worked as a supervisor on one of their projects. The complaint detailed allegations of assault, threats, and coercion to obtain personal information from the woman.
