Security Forces eliminate 5 Maoists in Chhattisgarh  encounter

Security forces eliminated five Naxalites in an encounter on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border on Tuesday. Reports indicate that the search operation in the area was ongoing. The encounter took place in the forests of Abujhmad in the Kohkameta police station area.
According to information, over 1,400 troops from various districts, including Narayanpur, Dantewada, Bastar, and Kondagaon, set out on an anti-Naxalite operation on June 30. During this operation, they entered the core area of Abujhmad.
Reports suggested that the Naxalites attacked the troops in the morning, leading to an exchange of fire between both sides. The firing ceased by evening on  uesday, allowing the troops to initiate a search operation. During this search, five Naxalite bodies were recovered.
According to officials, detailed information will be available once the troops return. All security personnel are reported to be safe. The encounter involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), Border Security Force (BSF), and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

\138 Naxalites Killed So Far in 2024
With Tuesday’s encounter, the number of Naxalites killed in various encounters with security forces in Chhattisgarh since January has increased to 138. In the Bastar division, comprising seven districts including Narayanpur, 136 Maoists were killed, while two others were killed in Dhamtari district under the Raipur division.

An encounter occurred between the police and Naxalites in the Kutul area of Abujhmad, on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border in Narayanpur. During the encounter, troops killed eight Maoists and recovered their bodies. STF soldier Nitish Ekka was martyred, and two others were injured and airlifted to Raipur. In the first 161 days of this year, the troops have eliminated 141 Naxalites.
