Dhamtari: Sankra Gram Panchayat falling under the Nagri development block of Dhamtari district has bagged Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP) 2023. The award has been given to the Gram Panchayat Sankra in the category of healthy Panchayat. District collector Rituraj Raghuvanshi, and the Zila Panchayat CEO Roktima Yadav, have congratulated and extended best wishes to the Sankra Panchayat for this outstanding achievement.
Gram Panchayat Sankra, which has the highest population among all the Gram Panchayats in the Nagri Janpad Panchayat, has secured the top position in Chhattisgarh in the Healthy Panchayat category for its excellent work related to health. Meanwhile, for the awards of the year 2022-23, invitations were sent for 9 themes at the national level, and this time the Gram Panchayat Sankra topped in the healthy Panchayat theme throughout the Chhattisgarh state.
The schemes were implemented and construction works were done by the local sarpanch and panchayat secretary, taking into account the interests of the villagers. As part of this effort, Gram Panchayat Sankra has established a spacious vaccination center in Sankra Hospital and expanded greenery on the premises. The said panchayat has carried out exemplary work in the public interest even during the Corona pandemic, including launching a massive Covid-19 vaccination campaign that resulted in one hundred per cent vaccination in a single day.
Gram Panchayat Sankra had previously received the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rashtriya Panchayat Shashaktikaran Puraskar. The local sarpanch Shashi Dhruv expressed gratitude to the district administration for receiving the national award and for providing the necessary administrative cooperation.
