Bilaspur. The review workshop organised under the joint aegis of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (Central University) and Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, concluded on January 29, 2023, at the Rajat Jayanti Sabhagar. A public function was organised in the concluding session of the workshop on National Education Policy 2020: Implementation, Challenges, and Social Concerns.
Arun Sao, the honourable MP for the Bilaspur Lok Sabha constituency, was the ceremony’s, Chief Guest. Dr Atul Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas in New Delhi, was the keynote speaker, and Dr Purnendu Saxena, a senior orthopaedic expert from Raipur, was the special guest. Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, the university’s vice-chancellor, presided over the event. Other dignitaries on the stage were Dr Prafulla Sharma, Regional Convenor of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, the Registrar, Prof. Manish Srivastava, and the Convenor of the Program, Prof. P.K. Bajpai. Dr Prafulla Sharma, Regional Convenor of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, delivered the welcome address in the concluding programme of the workshop.
Arun Sao, MP from Bilaspur Lok Sabha Constituency, stated as the program’s Chief Guest that this university is establishing its identity on a national and international scale. The National Education Policy will restore India’s lost glory and pride and right the wrongs caused by Macaulay’s long-standing policy.

The event’s keynote speaker, Dr Atul Kothari, National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, stated that Nyas’s motto is to change the nation with education. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasises the physical development of youth as well as character building, in line with moral values and Indian tradition. It prioritises teaching in the student’s native language, which experts support. Dr Kothari emphasised that because education comes from three sources—home, institution, and society—we must all contribute positively to the policy’s successful, smooth, and complete implementation.
Distinguished guest and famous orthopaedic specialist Dr Purnendu Saxena said that comprehensive implementation of the policy is a challenge that we have accepted.

The speaker, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, highlighted the significance of the 2020 National Education Policy for establishing India as a world leader. He mentioned the university’s efforts towards fulfilling its responsibilities as the only Central University in Chhattisgarh through the initiation of the Swavalambi Chhattisgarh scheme and other programs like interdisciplinary studies and the Guru Ghasidas Swabhiman Thali (GST). He stated that these initiatives are in line with the spirit of the National Education Policy.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Chakrawal, expressed that their goal is the development of the entire state. He stated that with the tireless efforts of teachers, officers, employees, and students, the university will soon become one of the best in the country. The university is actively involved in implementing various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 by launching various research, innovation, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary programs, as well as programs for the overall development of students. The university has also taken innovative steps in the fields of mushroom production and woodcraft, which have already shown promising results.
GST Thali Commencement
The university inaugurated Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Swabhimaan Thali (GST) on January 26, 2023. In this scheme, started in the spirit of “Swachh Bharat, Swathya Bharat,” volunteers associated with the National Service Scheme of the university have played a role.
At the closing ceremony, the guests were honoured by offering shawls, shreephal, and mementos.
