Religious Conversion Is Biggest Problem, Will Work With RSS to Resolve It, Says Veteran Tribal Leader Arvind Netam at RSS Headquarters

Raipur

Veteran tribal leader and former Union Minister Arvind Netam has called religious conversion the “biggest problem” and expressed his intent to work with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to find a solution.

Addressing a training camp at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, Netam criticized successive governments for failing to act decisively on the issue. “Governments have merely played the blame game and have not taken any concrete steps so far. The RSS and the tribal community together can find a lasting solution,” he said.

This marks a historic development, as it is the first time a tribal leader from Chhattisgarh has been invited to speak at the RSS headquarters. Speaking to Lalluram.com, Netam described the invitation as a significant moment for both Chhattisgarh’s political landscape and the tribal community.

He shared that he had received a personal invitation from the RSS chief and would be staying at the Nagpur headquarters for three daysJune 3, 4, and 5—to observe the Sangh’s activities up close. On June 5, Netam joined RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on stage as the chief guest at the training camp.

“This is an important opportunity to engage with the Sangh’s work and contribute toward resolving issues that affect tribal society,” Netam said.
