Ramkrishnapur farmer earned Rs 07 lakh using solar-powered irrigational pump

Kanker: Parimal Bose, a farmer of PV-25 Ramakrishnapur of Koyalibeda development block, located about 150 km away from the district headquarters, said that he has constructed a pond and installed a 05 horsepower solar pump in his farm. He is practicing fish farming by filling the water with a solar pump in the pond. He is earning an annual income of about Rs 03 lakh through this. Simultaneously, he is cultivating maize in his fields and irrigating his farmland through the solar pump. This is generating him an income of about Rs 4 lakh. Saur Sujala Yojana is now playing an important role in changing the economic condition of farmers in Koyalibeda.

Meanwhile, farmers across the district are now adopting modern farming methods to boost their income and improve their quality of life. Farmers living in remote and inaccessible areas of the district are getting a push to practice agriculture through the assistance provided by the administration and state government. They are now moving ahead toward a better lifestyle availing the benefits of various welfare schemes run by the state government.

We all know that adequate water is necessary for a good crop yield. Farmers of remote villages have to face a lot of difficulty in irrigating their fields due to the absence of a proper electricity supply. To overcome the problem, solar-powered irrigation pumps are being installed in the fields having no electricity supply.

Hundreds of farmers are irrigating their fields by installing solar-powered pumps in the Koyalibeda development block of district Kanker. They are now getting relief from the problem of low-voltage, frequent power failure, and hefty electricity bills. Priority is being given to installing solar pumps in villages where it is not possible to supply electricity through poles. Saur Sujala Yojana is proving to be beneficial for the farmers of remote forest areas of the Koyalibeda development block.
