Raipur’s new collector Dr Sarveshwar Bhure: Studied in a village school, did his MBBS and then became an IAS.

Dr Sarveshwar Bhure, a 2011 batch IAS officer, is now the Collector of Raipur. Saurabh Kumar has been made the Collector of Bilaspur. Earlier. Dr Bhure was the Collector of Durg. Sarveshwar Bhure is an officer of the state who also served the people as a doctor during the Covid period. His wife, Dr Rashmi Bhure, also supported him. 

Hailing from a middle-class family, Dr Bhure’s father was a teacher. In some of his interviews, Dr Bhure has told the media that he did not have any information about UPSC, IIT and IIM till class 10. He studied at Marathi Medium School in the village. A resident of the Bhandara district, he came to the city for class 11. Dr Bhure says I was good at studies, so I wanted to become a doctor. I came to know about civil services in college.

AS Dr Bhure did his MBBS from a medical college in Pune, he got to know about UPSC from his seniors. A senior student who passed out from this college was the commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation. Seeing him, Dr Bhure was inspired to join the civil service. He met Dr Rashmi, who studied with him in college. After some time, both got married.

Dr Bhure was bothered by English subjects, as he had studied in the village school. Dr Bhure was a student of science. For a time, he felt that he should change the stream itself. But the family members encouraged him. Dr Bhure says hard work is the only option when faced with difficulties. I tried to learn what I did not know and got success.

In his spare time, the new collector of Raipur likes to play squash and cricket. Dr Bhure considers the film Swades important in his life. This film awakened the feeling of connecting with the people and doing true service. Apart from this, he also likes to travel and watch web series.
