Raipur Elite Interact Club Celebrates Diwali at Old Age Home — Lights, Lanterns and Laughter Bring Joy to Elderly Residents

Raipur, October 17:
This Diwali, the Interact Club of Raipur Elite illuminated more than just diyas — they lit up hearts. In a beautiful gesture of compassion and community service, the young Interactors celebrated the festival of lights with the elderly residents of Vridha Ashram, Sundarnagar.

The event, organized under the guidance of Mentor Rashmi Mittal and led by Club President Krisha Agrawal and Secretary Ayusi Sethia, reflected the club’s core values of empathy and service.

Over 30 enthusiastic Interactors participated in the celebration, transforming the Ashram into a vibrant festive space. The students decorated the premises with diyas, candles, torans, and rangolis, filling the environment with warmth, colors, and happiness. They sang traditional songs, played fun games, and distributed sweets and snacks, creating moments of laughter and emotional connection.

The most heartwarming part of the evening came when the students lit candles for each elderly resident and released Akash Deep lanterns into the night sky — each carrying heartfelt wishes for health, peace, and happiness. The touching gesture brought tears of joy to many eyes.

Speaking on the occasion, Mentor Rashmi Mittal appreciated the efforts of the Interact members, saying, “This initiative reflects the true spirit of Diwali — to bring light where it’s needed the most.”

The young volunteers shared that the experience gave them a deeper understanding of the festival’s essence — not just celebration, but compassion. “We realized that the real joy of Diwali comes from sharing happiness with others,” said Krisha Agrawal.

The event concluded with blessings, smiles, and an overwhelming sense of togetherness — making it a Diwali to remember for both the elders and the young Interactors.
