Raigarh: More than 41 lakh quintals of paddy purchased in the district, Rs 837 crores paid to the farmers

Raigarh: In the Kharif marketing year 2022-23, paddy is being procured from the farmers of the district at support price at a total of 100 procurement centers through 69 committees. A few new procurement centers have also been opened keeping in view the convenience of farmers. Besides, in a bid to provide relief to farmers, the facility of the online token has also been started. This year, a total of 76, 813 farmers in the district registered to sell paddy. Till the 30th of the third month of paddy procurement, 41 lakh 6 thousand 617 quintals of paddy has been procured. Out of the total paddy procurement, more than 37 lakh 58 thousand paddy has been transported. Currently, 91 per cent of the paddy procured has been lifted and a total of 10, 523 farmers have surrendered their land.
Rs 837 crore paid to farmers in lieu of paddy purchase
Farmers are also getting timely payment in the lieu of paddy purchases. Till now Rs 837 crore 39 lakh has been paid to the farmers. This includes payment of Rs 120.46 crore to the farmers of the Raigarh development block, Rs 79.60 crore to farmers of the Tamnar development block, Rs 64.79 crore to the farmers of the Gharghoda development block, Rs 168.04 crore to farmers of the Pusaur development block, Rs 140.72 crore to farmers of Kharsia development block, Rs 166.81 crore to farmers of Dharamjaigarh development block and Rs 96.94 crore to the farmers of Lailunga development block.
