Rahul Gandhi slams PM Narendra Modi in Bastar: Accuses PM of trying to seize tribal lands

Raipur
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi  made a fiery speech on Saturday while addressing a rally at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Bastar Block. He appealed to the crowd to support Congress candidate Kawasi Lakhma from Bastar.
Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Modi government, accusing it of attempting to deprive tribals of their land and resources. He remarked, “We refer to you as tribals, but Modi calls you forest dwellers. In the history of Hindustan, when no one else existed, tribals inhabited these lands, and the water and forests were rightfully theirs. Those whom you call forest dwellers are not recognized as part of Hindustan by the current government.”
He continued, “We enacted laws for your protection, such as MNREGA, but the BJP and RSS encroach upon your rights and beliefs. The forests of Hindustan are dwindling, as Modi and Adani seize control of them. They want to confine you to rural areas and prevent you from accessing opportunities in urban centers, but we want to see you progress.”
Gandhi also criticized the Modi government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting instances where he felt the government had failed to provide adequate support to citizens in need.
Referring to recent events, Gandhi remarked, “Even during the inauguration of the Ram temple, the tribal President of the country was excluded, sending a clear message from PM Narendra Modi. BJP members disrespect tribals, illustrating the dire situation faced by these communities.”
Promising reforms, Gandhi outlined Congress’s agenda, including the creation of job opportunities and financial support for marginalized groups. He pledged to eradicate poverty through various initiatives, including job creation, loan waivers for farmers, and direct financial assistance to women living below the poverty line.
Gandhi concluded his speech by vowing to prioritize the welfare of marginalized communities and appealed to the audience to support Congress in the upcoming elections.
