‘Puna Nargem’ initiative eradicates anti-people Maoist ideology, says CM Sai

21 Naxals surrender in Kanker district, embrace peace
Raipur
Maoism’s end in Chhattisgarh is fast becoming a reality, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has said. The “Puna Nargem – Punarvas se Punarjeevan” (Rebirth through Rehabilitation) initiative, a public-oriented programme, has brought a new wave of peace and trust to the Bastar region.
The Chief Minister noted that 21 Naxals surrendered in Kanker district today, abandoning the path of violence. He termed this a strong proof of the success of the state’s ongoing “Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy – 2025” and the “Niyad Nella Nar Yojana” (Village People’s Campaign/Scheme).
Sai stated that youths misled by the false and misleading ideology of Maoism now understand that development, not the gun, is the right choice for the future. The government is fully committed to the rehabilitation, re-training, and social re-establishment of these surrendered Naxals. This support will help them join the mainstream and live a life of dignity in society.
Chief Minister Sai said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chhattisgarh government has won the trust of the people of Bastar. This trust has led to the rapid weakening of Maoist organisations, with a large number of cadres leaving the path of violence and accepting peace.
He emphasised that Naxalism’s hold is broken in the Bastar area, and the region is quickly moving towards peace, development, and empowerment. Sai mentioned that the double-engine government’s goal is to make India Naxal-free by 31 March 2026, and Chhattisgarh is swiftly moving in this direction.
