The Bilaspur Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) has ordered an investigation into serious corruption allegations against former Bilaspur Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Rajendra Jaiswal. The move comes after videos purportedly showing the officer demanding money from spa centre operators surfaced on social media.
The IGP issued a formal letter to the Bilaspur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), directing a thorough probe into the audio and visual evidence. The department has received a pen drive containing the viral footage as part of the official complaint.
The allegations suggest that Jaiswal collected monthly payments of Rs 30,000 from a spa operator. Reports circulating alongside the video claim that similar collections were being made from 10 such establishments, amounting to Rs 3 lakh per month.
The police department has initiated the inquiry to verify the authenticity of the clips. Senior officials stated that strict action will follow if the allegations of extortion are proven true.
