Pregnant minor stabs boyfriend to death after abortion dispute in Raipur lodge

Raipur
A shocking murder has come to light in the capital, where a pregnant minor girl allegedly killed her 20-year-old boyfriend inside a lodge room after a heated argument over abortion.

The incident took place on the night of September 27 at Avon Lodge under Ganj police station limits. CCTV footage showed the couple checking in twice at the lodge, once on the morning of September 27 and again on the evening of September 28, when the victim, identified as Mohammad Saddam (20), a native of Bihar, was last seen alive.

Police investigations revealed that the couple fought over the pregnancy, with the victim insisting on abortion. Later that night, around 3 am, the girl allegedly stabbed Saddam five times in the neck and back while he was asleep, killing him on the spot.

After committing the murder, the accused locked the lodge room from outside, took the victim’s mobile phone, and boarded a train to Bilaspur. The next morning, the lodge owner noticed the lights on in the locked room and, upon calling the victim’s number, was misled by the girl, who claimed Saddam was in the bathroom. Later that evening, when the room was opened, Saddam’s blood-soaked body was found on the bed.

The accused’s family eventually brought her to Koni police station in Bilaspur, after she confessed to her mother, who noticed bloodstains on her clothes. Koni police informed Raipur police, leading to her detention.

According to investigators, Saddam had multiple IDs under different names. He was living in Abhanpur on rent while working at a food processing factory. The girl and Saddam reportedly became friends through social media two years ago and had met several times in Raipur before the incident.

Police have registered a case of murder against the minor, who remains in custody. The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
