Two lakh people expected in public meeting of Congress on last day of three-day Convention

Preparations are in full swing for the three-day national convention of Congress in Raipur from February 24 to 26. A mega public meeting will be organised on the last day of the convention which is expected to witness over two lakh people. It has been decided in the meeting of the Public Meeting Committee held on Sunday under the chairmanship of State Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu that the public meeting will be held in the field located in front of Agriculture College in Jora, Raipur.
Sahu said that all the district presidents have been asked to hold a meeting in their respective districts on Monday and bring maximum number of workers from their respective districts to the meeting.
The party is expecting over 2 lakh workers. On the question of security arrangements during the convention, Sahu said, many VVIPs from all over the country will come in this convention and their security is utmost priority of the party. Officers of IG, DIG to SP, Additional SP, DSP level will monitor the security arrangements.
During the meeting, emphasis was laid on seating arrangements of the representatives coming from across the country, the representatives of State Congress and the invitees. Responsibilities were distributed to the leaders.
Prior to this, Kumari Selja, the state in-charge of the Congress, has given the task of making this public meeting historic. In the first meeting, he had said, this public meeting should be bigger than the rally that was organised on the issue of reservation. She had said, this public meeting should be such that the world sees it through social media.
