Singhdeo chairs meeting of autonomous committee of PtJNMMC

The minister rejected a proposal to charge fee of Rs 500 for speech therapy and kept it free of cost for people

Chhattisgarh health and family welfare minister T S Singhdeochaired a meeting of the autonomous committee at Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College on Sunday. Singhdeo said that there should be no shortage of medicines for the patients. If any problem is there, they should inform him immediately, Singhdeosaid.

Appreciating the work of health staff during corona period, Singhdeo that for the expansion of medical facilities in the state, medical colleges need to work in coordination with CGMSC.Singhdeo reviewed work of Finance Committee, Managing Executive Committee, Department of Pathology / Biochemistry / Microbiology, Virology, Cardiology and other departments in detail.

Singhdeo while looking at the balance sheet of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College said that the expansion of facilities should be ensured by utilizing the amount available with the department. He said that nominal fee from unemployed youths should be taken who are applying for vacant posts. He further said that according to the information received from the public, there was a delay in the post mortem report, on which he asked the departmental officers to make the report easily available.

Doctors submitted a list of resources available for liver and kidney transplant and requirement for government medical colleges and hospitals of the state. In turn Singhdeo said thatefforts would be made to make them available.

A fee of Rs 500 was proposed for speech therapy to be done through computerized speech lab set up costing Rs 43 lakhs but Singhdeo rejected the proposal and decided to provide free facility to patients in Government Physiotherapy College. The fee of ₹ 10- ₹ 20 for physiotherapy was also dropped and directed to make it free of cost.
