Not even a single branch will be chopped if Singhdeo does not want for hasdeo forest: CM Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur:Putting a rest to the ongoing attack and counter attacks on cutting of trees in Hasdeo forest areas of Surguja district for coal excavation, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said the T S Singhdeo, the Health Minister of the state, is a MLA of the area and not even a single branch will be chopped if Singhdeo does not want so.
Those, who will try to create dispute in the area, will be identified and punished as per the prescribed rules. If someone dares to use firearms then they will be ‘shot at’ first, the chief minister made it clear while talking to media.
SInghdeo had gone to meet the people protesting tree felling and mining in Hasdeo Aranya on Monday and told them that he will take first bullet in his chest if situation of firing arises here, said the Chief Minister.
Reacting to BJP’s press conference on Hasdeo, the Chief Minister said that the BJP is silent on the issue, The BJP should make its stand clear. All the rules are designed by the Central government. Environment Act and Forest Act are with Centre. Centre has the rights to grant permission on mining. Why the agitators do not demand from the Centre, said Baghel. Why Brijmohan Agrawal is not writing to the Centre seeking cancellation of mining, said Baghel.
