Land identification for installation of 132 KV power sub-station in process: CM 

Bilaspur city MLA Shailesh Pandey raises issue of power cut and power failure in the Assembly

On the demand of Bilaspur city MLA ShaileshPandey in the monsoon session of Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the process for the identification of land has been initiated to set up 132 KV power sub-station. 

On the last day of the Assembly’s monsoon session on Wednesday, the MLA raised the issue of power cut in Bilaspur city and construction of 132 KV power sub-station approved for the city.

The MLA wanted to know the progress made in this direction. On it, Chief Minister Baghelinformed that the selected land in Lokhandivillage for the construction of 132 KV power sub-station was cancelled due to provisions of forest protection act 1980.

Due to the disagreement expressed by the Gram Sabha Lokhandi through its letter dated May 5, 2022 for allotment of land for the construction of an electric sub-station at the aforesaid place, the process of selection of suitable land at other location was under process. After the allotment of land, construction of sub-station can be started after tender process.

MLA Pandey asked the Chief Minister Baghelabout complaints of power cut and shutdown in Bilaspur city were received between March 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022 and for what reasons the electricity supply was affected.

Chief Minister Baghel informed that no power cut has been done in Bilaspur city during the period. A total of 62781 complaints of power failure have been received during the aforesaid period, said the Chief MInister. The reasons for which are declared shutdown, sudden disruption of 33 KV, 11 KV and LT lines due to storm and rain, fault in transformers, burning of TMC fuse and DO fuse during storm and rain and interruption in the service line of jumpers or cutouts of the consumers.
