Political turmoil over Rajiv Shukla’s meeting with Haryana Cong MLAs staying in Nava Raipur

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel likely to meet the Congress MLAs of Haryana late Monday evening

Raipur:The political turmoil over 28 Haryana Congress MLAs staying in Raipur has intensified on Monday with All India Congress Committee observer for Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana Rajiv Shukla reaching the hotel in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar to the MLAs. These MLAs were shifted from Haryana to Raipur with apprehension of cross voting in the biennial elections to Rajya Sabha on June 10.

It is also learnt that, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who is also the observer for Haryana, will hold a meeting with Haryana Congress MLAs in the night.

Talking to media at Swami Vivekananda International Airport, Raipur on Monday, newly elected Rajya Sabha MP from Chhatisgarh Rajiv Shukla said, in any case, Congress will win in Haryana. He said that the BJP is always in the midst of horse-trading and horse trading. However, they will be successful in their mission.

Shukla said that a training camp of Haryana MLAs is going on here. After the Chintan Shivirin Udaipur, they are holding training through such process and he has come for this purpose. Shukla claimed that three MLAs who have not come here from Haryana are also with the Congress. Shukla said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will also go to meet the MLAs of Haryana.

It may be recalled, the batch of 28 MLAs and office bearers from Haryana had come to Raipur on June 2 and they will stay here till June 9. 

Congress has given ticket to Ajay Maken from Haryana. On the other hand, BJP has made Krishnalal Pawar its candidate against Maken. Kartikeya Sharma, son of former Union Minister Vinod Sharma, is contesting as an independent candidate. Karthikeya has support from Jannayak Janata Party and independents. There are 90 seats in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. In such a situation, 31 votes will be needed to win in the Rajya Sabha. Congress has 31 MLAs. But the claim of Kartikeya Sharma may create problem for Congress.
