Police to reach spots within 5 minutes this Holi

Raipur

Raipur Police has prepared a comprehensive security plan to maintain peace during the Holi festival. Security personnel will monitor the city from the ground and the air to prevent any hooliganism.

Drone cameras have been deployed in sensitive areas of the state capital to provide real-time updates to the control room. The Raipur Commissionerate has divided the city into three sectors. Commissioner of Police Dr Sanjeev Shukla has instructed teams to ensure a response time of five minutes to any reported dispute or incident.

Over 3,000 police personnel will be on duty from Monday evening until Wednesday evening. The force will specifically monitor instances of drink-driving and triple-riding on two-wheelers.

Focus on drink-driving and triple-riding
The traffic police has set up over 60 checking points across the city. Five hundred personnel from the traffic department will be stationed at major intersections.

The drive will target motorists driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, or carrying two pillion riders. Police will seize vehicles found in violation of these rules and transport them to the respective police stations.

Crime Branch teams in civil dress
A special 150-member team of the Crime Branch will be deployed in civil clothes to curb the illegal sale of liquor and other narcotics. These teams will also monitor suspicious activities to prevent any unrest during the festivities.

City divided into 3 sectors
Commissioner of Police Dr Sanjeev Shukla told reporters that the city has been divided into three sectors under the supervision of officers of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) rank.

Drone cameras will monitor and record activities in sensitive areas to serve as evidence if required,” Dr Shukla said. He added that the police response time has been fixed at five minutes. The Commissioner has appealed to residents to celebrate the festival peacefully.
