Police should prioritize protecting women’s safety above anything else: Dangi

Raipur: To raise awareness regarding women’s protection and crimes committed against them, a workshop is organized at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Police Academy in Chandrakhuri for investigating officers and gazette officers from various districts of Chhattisgarh.
During the inauguration of the five-day workshop organized by the National Crime and Investigation Bureau Ratan Lal Dangi, the Director of the Academy, expressed his concerns regarding the ongoing incidents that cause fear and apprehension among women. He stated that in order to stop the rising number of crimes against women, it is the duty of the investigating officer and gazette officers to report any crime involving women as soon as they know about it and to take immediate action against the offenders by presenting their case in court with concrete evidence.
Addressing the workshop, he added that police officers should regularly mark their presence in public places like marketplaces, bus stops, crowded areas, schools, and universities where women are present in order to prevent anti-social things to happen. He continued by saying that police officers should be proud of their work as they have the chance to defend the public and those in need. The government has also granted statutory rights in order for you to carry out this duty. By making proper use of these rights you can help women to develop confidence.
During this five-day workshop, all police officers will receive comprehensive training on the latest amendments in legal provisions related to women, as well as the procedures involved in a scientific investigation
